The Registration for the Dragonflies Dragon Boat Festival closed early this year with applications still arriving after the maximum number of registrants was reached.
The 56 teams and over 1400 paddlers that competed in the 2010 festival raised more than $153,000 in pledges and donations. This popular festival is a fund raiser by cancer survivors for four local hospitals, Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, and the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre in Oshawa
